Cyndi Lopez arrived at MIT in August 2013 in conjunction with her pursuit of a Master's Degree from Boston University. During her time with the Engineers, she will be responsible for providing medical care to their field hockey, softball, and men's volleyball teams.
A 2013 graduate of The University of Texas at Austin, Lopez received a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training. As a student in the UT-Austin Athletic Training Education Program, she assisted with the women's cross country,football, women's soccer, women's track and field, and women's volleyball teams. In addition, Lopez managed, mentored, and taught underclassmen and prospective pre-athletic training students seeking admission into the AthleticTraining Education Program. During the 2012-13 academic year, she completed an internship with the Texas Stars, the top affiliate of the NHL's Dallas Stars franchise.
While at Texas, Lopez was a member of the Longhorn Scholars Program and was a three-time recipient of the Athletic Director's Academic Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement. Her affiliations include the National Athletic Trainers' Association and the Longhorn Athletic Training Student Association. Lopez isalso a 2007 alumna of the MIT Minority Introduction to Engineering and Science program.
