Melissa Mulloy-Mecozzi will be in her fourth year at the helm of the MIT Rifle program in 2014-15. In 2013-14 she led the Engineers team to a 27-9 overall record and was named the Mid Atlantic Rifle Conference Coach of the Year. A former collegiate All-American and participant in the 2000 Olympic Games, was named the head coach of the MIT rifle team in July 2011. She succeeded her father, Jerry, who was at the helm for the Engineers from 2001 through 2011.

A graduate of the University of Alaska-Fairbanks, Mulloy-Mecozzi was a member of three national championship teams while earning seven NCAA All-America honors. As a junior at Alaska-Fairbanks she was the recipient of the NCAA Woman of the Year Award for the state of Alaska.

A world-class competitor, Mulloy-Mecozzi has participated in the U.S. and World Championships, the Pan Am Games, while also representing the United States in the 2000 Olympics. She captured the women’s air rifle title at the 2000 USA Shooting Championships and finished eighth in the three-position rifle at that year’s Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia. She also earned a Silver medal at the 2003 Pan Am Games.

Mulloy-Mecozzi earned a degree in business administration from Alaska-Fairbanks and a Master’s in the same discipline from Troy University. Throughout the years, she has coached at camps and clinics across the country, sharing her expertise with shooters of all ages and skill-levels.
