Sarah Wright begins her first season as an assistant coach with the MIT rifle program in 2016-2017. She joins the coaching staff after an outstanding four-year career for the Engineers.
The only two-time CoSIDA Academic All-America selection for the rifle program as a First Team honoree in 2016 and a Second Team selection in 2015. As a senior, she won the Mid-Atlantic Rifle Conference (MAC) smallbore and air rifle titles, helping her earn First Team All-MAC honors in both disciplines. Wright led the Engineers with a smallbore average of 572.1 out of 600, while her air rifle mark was 580.
Majoring in biological engineering, she conducted research on computational methods to model metabolism of antibiotic resistant bacteria at MIT's Broad Institute in addition to serving as an undergraduate research fellow in Singapore working on anti-influenza antibodies.
