Grant Mecozzi is in his fifth year as an assistant with the MIT rifle team. He adds a wealth of shooting experience to the MIT rifle coaching staff. Prior to coming to MIT he was a certified US Army Marksmanship Instructor at Fort Benning in Georgia from 2001-2005.

Mecozzi competed collegiately at the University of Alaska – Fairbanks where he was a member of the team from 1996-2001 and earned numerous All-America honors.  He earned first team honors in air rifle in 2000 and 2001, adding second team honors in the discipline in 1999. In small bore he was a second team All-America selection three times, earning the distinction from each year from 1999-2001.

Mecozzi began shooting in 1992 with Waukegan JROTC high school Rifle Team in Waukegan, Illinois.
