Women's Sailing Moves Up in Final Fall Rankings
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Bolstered by its sixth-place finish at the Women's Atlantic Coast Championship, the MIT women's sailing team jumped up two spots to No. 9 in the final Sperry – Top Sider College Rankings of the fall season. The co-ed squad, meanwhile, closed the first half of its campaign at No. 11.
A member of the New England Intercollegiate Sailing Association, the women's team is one of nine squads from the league to earn a national ranking. Fellow conference foes include: Dartmouth (No. 1), Boston College (No. 2), Yale (No. 4), Tufts University (No. 6), Brown (No. 10), Rhode Island (No. 11), and Roger Williams University (No. 13). The Middle Atlantic Intercollegiate Sailing Association was represented by four squads, followed by two from the South Atlantic Intercollegiate Sailing Association and one Pacific Coast Collegiate Sailing Conference.
