Coed Sailing Moves Up, Women's Team Returns to National Rankings

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Following several impressive performances during the past two weekends, the MIT sailing teams were rewarded with new spots in the Sperry – Top Sider College Rankings. The coed squad jumped up two spots to No. 11 while the women returned to the poll, landing at No. 13.

A member of the New England Intercollegiate Sailing Association (NEISA), the league accounted for 18 of 35 spots between both polls. In addition, MIT was one of 12 programs to earn a national ranking for both the coed and women's teams. Fellow NEISA foes that received double representation include Boston College, Brown, Dartmouth, Harvard, Tufts University, and Yale.

This weekend, MIT will host the Lynne Marchiando Trophy on Saturday, April 6 in addition to competing in the Women's President's Trophy, the Central Series Three, and the Friis Team Race.
