Coed Sailing Claims New National Ranking

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – On the heels of its outstanding performance at the Inter-Collegiate Sailing Association Dinghy Championship Western Semifinal this past weekend, the MIT coed sailing team moved up two spots to No. 12 in the latest Sperry – Top Sider College Rankings.

A member of the New England Intercollegiate Sailing Association, MIT is one of nine teams from the league to earn a national ranking. Fellow conference foes include: Yale (No. 2), Roger Williams University (No. 4), Brown (No. 6), Boston College (No. 8), Dartmouth (No. 9), Tufts University (No. 13), Connecticut College (No. 19), and Harvard (No. 20). The Middle Atlantic Intercollegiate Sailing Association was represented by seven squads, followed by two from the South Atlantic Intercollegiate Sailing Association, and one apiece from the Pacific Coast Collegiate Sailing Conference and the Midwest Collegiate Sailing Association.

This weekend, MIT will compete in the New England Team Race Championship hosted by Harvard University.
