MIT Receives NEISA Women's Sailor of the Week Honors

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Senior Hanna Vincent (Santa Barbara, Calif.) along with sophomores Lisa Sukharev-Chuyan (Temple, N.H.) and Jamila Smith-Dell (Cambridge, Mass.) of the MIT women's sailing team were named the New England Intercollegiate Sailing Association Women's Sailors of the Week following their victory in the B Division of the Navy Women's Spring Regatta last weekend.

The trio won the fourth and eighth rotations, was the runners-up in the third race, came in fourth in the 11th round, and secured the fifth spot on two occasions as they averaged a 5.5 through 12 races. Their finish atop the B Division standings helped the No. 9 Engineers capture fourth place in a field of 20 teams that featured 12 nationally-ranked squads.

This weekend, MIT is slated to host the Geiger Trophy in addition to traveling to the Southern New England Team Race at Connecticut College.
