MIT Squash Falls to Connecticut College, 8-1

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - In the first match of the new year, the MIT coed squash team fell to Connecticut College, 8-1. The Engineers are now 3-10 for the season.

Sophomore Gray Riley (Wellesley, Mass.) was the only MIT player to win his match. He dropped the first game, 11-2, but won the other three, 12-10, 15-13, 11-6.

Senior Sunny Long (Wethersfield, Conn.) played well against opponent Randy Coplin, narrowly losing the first game, 12-10. He fell in the other two games, 11-6, 11-8. Junior Abhi Mitra (Medford, Mass.) had a strong first and third game against Hunter Bolling, falling 11-9, 11-7. He dropped the middle game, 11-1.

Freshman Marina Crowe (Swarthmore, Pa.) had a good first game against Asa Welty, falling 12-10. She lost the other two, 11-3, 11-4. Classmate Bowen Baker (Nevada City, Calif.) also had a good showing against Ben Thaler, falling 11-4, 11-9, 11-5.

MIT will return to action when it travels to Bowdoin College for the Maine Event on Jan. 26 at 1:00 p.m.
