Thierry Lincou enters his second season as the head coach of MIT’s squash team. He brings over 20 years of experience to the Engineers’ program, including playing as a professional from 1994-2012.

In addition to playing squash professionally, Lincou was World Champion in Qatar in 2004, ranking first in the world from 2004-05. He was the European Champion in 2009 and 2010 and was the World University Chanmpion in 1998 and 2000. Lincou was the captain of the French National Squash team, winning a silver medal twice and bronze once.

Prior to arriving at MIT, Lincou organized tournaments in France and on Reunion Island, as well as organizing training camps in Geneva, New York, Boston, Hong Kong, and Israel. Since 2001, he has worked with Tecnifibre Brand, a company that makes squash equipment, and has managed the Tecnifibre international junior program since 2010.

Sam Gould is entering his second season as assistant coach of the MIT Squash Team after serving as the Associate Head Coach last season. Gould helped the team reach an overall mark of 8-6 and a 31st place finish in the nation.

Gould attended Stanford University where he played No. 1 on the team ladder for all four years.  During his junior and senior seasons, he served as the captain and led the team to top 25 finishes in the CSA end-of-season rankings. In addition to the time he spent on the court, he also volunteered as the Athletic Director for Xtreme Squash, an academic and athletic enrichment program for underserved middle school students from Redwood City, Calif.

Gould earned his bachelor’s degree from Stanford in 2011 and, since graduation, has been working as the Director of Youth Ministry for the Episcopal Diocese of Massachusetts.
