CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Sophomore Aric Dama has been tabbed as the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) baseball pitcher of the week for the games between March 14th and March 20th.
Dama, a native of Winfield, Illinois, got MIT's conference schedule underway with a 1-0 shutout of last season's champions Wheaton College. Dama pitched six innings of shutout ball, striking out four batters and allowing just five hits. The sophomore improves to 2-0 on the year after pitching another shutout of Trinity College. He also pitched a perfect inning on Thursday in Tech's victory over Wentworth.
Dama has pitched twelve innings this season, allowing just six hits and striking out eleven batters while not allowing a run.
The Engineers have won six straight games after dropping their first one to Trinity. They recently completed a three-game sweep of Wheaton in Winter Haven, Florida to get their conference season underway. They will continue their spring training trip with a game in Florida against Bowdoin College at 2:00 PM today.
