Swanson Earns Second Straight NEWMAC Pitcher of the Week Award

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Picking up where he left off last week, senior Torre Swanson (Redding, Calif.) has been selected as the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week. It is the second straight week the right-hander has earned the award.

After hurling a complete-game, three-hit shutout in his last outing, Swanson was even stronger this week in his start against NEWMAC opponent Clark University. Starting the first game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Cougars, he again threw a complete-game shutout, this time allowing just one hit while striking out six without issuing a walk in a 4-0 MIT victory. He has not given up a run in the month of April and extended his scoreless streak to 19 innings.
