BOSTON, Mass. – After belting out 10 hits, six of them doubles, in the first four games of the 2014 season, senior Creed Mangrum (Sandy, Utah) was named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Baseball Player of the Week the league announced today. It is the second time in his career that he has earned the award.
Mangrum started the 2014 season hot, hitting .500 in four games in Virginia over the weekend. In the opening game of the season he swatted a pair of doubles and drove in three runs in a win over the Apprentice School. In the victory over St. Vincent College, he came up with three doubles and drove in another pair of runs while scoring three times. He had at least one run scored and one hit in all four games for the Engineers.
