      <title>MIT Eliminated from NCAA Tournament by Daniel Webster</title>

      <description>HARWICH, Mass. &#x2013; MIT saw an early three-run lead erased by a four-run fifth inning and a five-run seventh as No. 8 seeded Daniel Webster College came from behind to defeat No. 5 MIT by a final of 10-4 at the NCAA Division III Regional Baseball Tournament this morning. Sophomore Parker Tew (Chapel Hill, N.C.) went 3-for-5, including a home run, for the Engineers who were eliminated from the tournament with the loss.</description>

      <description>HARWICH, Mass. &#x2013; No. 5 seeded MIT scored first, but back-to-back two run innings by No. 4 seed Western New England were enough to lift the Golden Bears to a 5-2 victory in the opening game of the NCAA Division III Regional Baseball Tournament this morning. Senior Max Ockner (Chesterfield, Mo.) pitched seven strong innings and sophomore Hayden Cornwell (Newport Beach, Calif.) homered for the Engineers.</description>

      <title>MIT Earns At-Large Bid to NCAA Division III Baseball Tournament</title>

      <description>INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. &#x2013; Fresh off of winning the 2013 ECAC Division III New England Baseball Championship yesterday, the MIT baseball team learned today that it has received an at-large bid to the 2013 NCAA Division III Baseball Tournament. It will be the second appearance in three years for the Engineers who were also selected in 2011. MIT, the No. 5 seed in its regional, will open NCAA play against Western New England, the No. 4 seed, on Wednesday, May 15. The regional will be played at Harwich, Massachusetts and is hosted by the ECAC.</description>

      <description>CAMBRIDGE, Mass. &#x2013; Freshman Nicholas Locascio (Naples, Fla.) hurled a complete-game, two-hit shutout this afternoon to lead No. 3 seed MIT to a 2-0 win over No. 5 seed U.S. Coast Guard Academy in the championship game of the 2013 ECAC Division III New England Baseball Championship. Locascio was named the tournament Most Outstanding Player for his efforts as the Engineers won their first-ever ECAC title.</description>

      <description>CAMBRIDGE, Mass. &#x2013; No. 3 seeded MIT pounded out 14 hits, including three doubles by freshman Kendall Helbert (St. Louis, Mo.), and senior Aric Dama (Winfield, Ill.) won his seventh game by allowing just four hits over seven innings as the Engineers ran past No. 7 seed Elms College, 12-0, in a semifinal game of the ECAC Division III Northeast Baseball Championship. MIT, which set a school record with its 26th victory of the season, will move on to tomorrow&#x2019;s final against the No. 5 seeded U.S. Coast Guard Academy.</description>

The victory was also the 25th win of the season for the Engineers as they tied the school record for victories in a season. MIT will go on to play Elms College in a semifinal game tomorrow.</description>

Junior outfielder Creed Mangrum (Sandy, Utah) was named to the first team with senior pitchers Aric Dama (Winfield, Ill.) and Max Ockner (Chesterfield, Mo.) and sophomore outfielder Hayden Cornwell (Newport Beach, Calif.) all receiving second team honors. In addition, head coach Andy Barlow was named the NEWMAC Coach of the Year.</description>
