March 30, 2005

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Junior Wayne Duggan was named NEWMAC Player of the Week in baseball after serving as one of the offensive catalyts for MIT's potent attack in a 5-2 week. Duggan is the first MIT player to earn the weekly league honor since Alvie Loreto in 2001.

Duggan paced a two-game sweep over Clark in the Conference opener for both schools, going 3-for-3 with two runs and an rbi in game one.

Earlier in the week, Duggan capped the Engineers spring trip to Florida with a dominating effort against Macalaster College, throwing a complete game shutout, while hitting two homeruns. For the week, Duggan was 10-of-24 (.417), with six runs and six rbi.
