This was the highest ranking for the Engineers in the 14-year history of the program and the first time they were the best performers in the New England Women&#x2019;s and Men&#x2019;s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC).</description>

      <description>CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The MIT men's basketball team recently spent nine days in Taiwan, participating in the 5th Annual Kainan University International Basketball Invitational tournament, an eight team tournament in which the squad competed against a number of collegiate teams from the region. The Engineers, as they did in their first trip to Taiwan in 2006, captured the Tournament crown, clinching the title with a 98-81 win over Taipei Physical Education College (TPEC) in the final.</description>

      <description>CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - For the second time in the last five years, the MIT men's basketball team will travel abroad to Taiwan to participate in the Fifth Annual Kainan University International Basketball Invitational. The Engineers will spend nine days on the northeast coast of Taiwan while competing in the eight-team tournament, which will be held from May 24-27. Tech first made the trip to Taiwan in 2006 as it captured the inaugural championship title.</description>

      <description>CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The No. 13 ranked MIT men's basketball team had to wait until the final pairing was announced, but the Engineers will be among the field of 61 teams for the upcoming NCAA Division III Tournament, for the second consecutive season. The Cardinal and Grey will take on DeSales University on Friday, March 5 in the opening round of a four team regional hosted by William Paterson University. The host Pioneers will take on Albertus Magnus in the other first round match-up, with the winners advancing to play Saturday, March 6 at 7:00 p.m. Friday's games will be played at 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. It has not yet been determined which teams will play at which time.</description>

Mitch Renshaw's personal 7-0 run put Clark up eight points with 7:32 to go and MIT would get no closer, as the Cougars (15-12) advanced to the NEWMAC Championship game for the first time since 2003. Noel Hollingsworth led the scoring for MIT, with 30 points in the losing effort to go along with nine rebounds. Will Tashman also had 12 points and eight boards for Tech (22-4), who will await word on a possible at-large selection to the NCAA Division III tournament on Monday morning.</description>
