Preseason Accolades Continue to Pour in for Hollingsworth

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – MIT's Noel Hollingsworth continues to garner national recognition ahead of his junior campaign, as the center from Salt Lake City, Utah has been named to the Preseason All-America First Team by Hollingsworth had previously received similar honors by the Sporting News, earlier this fall. Hollingsworth was a Second team All-America pick by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) in 2010, in addition to earning All-Region and conference Player of the Year honors.

The 2009-10 New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Player of the Year, Hollingsworth averaged a team and NEWMAC-high 20.4 points and 9.0 rebounds per game as a sophomore. In addition to the All-America nod, Hollingsworth was selected as an All-Region performer by, the NABC and the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC). 

Hollingsworth and the Engineers debuted at No. 15 in the nation in the D3Hoops Preseason Poll.  The Cardinal and Gray will open its highly anticipated campaign at home on Tuesday, November 16 against Emmanuel College at 7:00 p.m.
