CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – After helping lead the No. 15 ranked MIT men's basketball team to two impressive victories, sophomore Will Tashman was named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Player of the Week on Monday. Tashman averaged 19 points, 9.5 rebounds, five assists and 1.5 steals as the Engineers defeated Curry College and Suffolk University last week.
In Saturday's 86-47 win at Suffolk, Tashman scored a game-high 22 points to go along with 9 rebounds and 5 helpers. The sophomore added 16 points, 10 rebounds and five assists on Tuesday as MIT downed Curry, 90-63. Tashman also knocked down 20-of-23 free throws while shooting 45% from the field as MIT improved to 3-1 on the season.
The Cardinal and Gray will host Emerson College on Tuesday, November 30 at 7:00 p.m. Tech also has games at home against Newbury College and at Gordon College later in the week.
