Westwood, Mass. (December 18) -- MIT men's basketball junior guard Bradley Jomard (Paris, France) has been honored as the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Offensive Player of the Week for his performance in an 88-68 home win over UMass Dartmouth.
In the team's lone game of the week, Jomard led the Engineers past UMass Dartmouth with a near double-double as he finished with 26 points and nine assists. He also added four rebounds, two blocks and one steal as MIT won its seventh straight game to improve to 10-1 on the season. After a tie game at the half, Jomard exploded for 20 second-half points behind 6-for-6 shooting from the field and a perfect 8-for-8 showing at the free throw line as the Engineers pulled away.
This is the second NEWMAC weekly honor of the season for Jomard, who was named the Defensive Player of the Week earlier in the year. This is also the second straight NEWMAC offensive award for the Engineers as junior guard Cameron Korb (Los Gatos, Calif.) was recognized last week.
Jomard and the No. 22 ranked Engineers are idle until January 3rd when the team opens NEWMAC play with a 7 p.m. tipoff at WPI at Harrington Auditorium.
