Carter Roche enters his first season as an assistant coach for the MIT men's basketball program in 2016-2017.

Roche comes to MIT from Wentworth Institute of Technology, where he was a member of the coaching staff for three seasons. He assisted the Leopards in breaking their single-season Commonwealth Coast Conference mark for regular-season wins with 13 in the 2015-2016 season.

Roche was involved in all areas of operation of the program, including recruiting, advanced opponent scouting, practice planning, on-floor coaching, mailings to all associated with the program and numerous other duties.

A native of Clifton Park, N.Y., Roche received his Bachelor of Science degree in sport management from Endicott in 2014. He then went on to each his Masters of Business Administration from Endicott in 2015. Roche had a successful career as a four-year member and two-time captain of the Endicott men's volleyball team.
