Matt Stansky was promoted to associate head coach in August of 2015 after spending one season as an assistant on Larry Anderson’s staff.
At MIT, Stansky is responsible for recruiting, player development, opponent scouting, film breakdown and video analysis. During his tenure, he has helped MIT to an 18-8 season, a NEWMAC semi-finals appearance, and a league-high academic recognition of placing 10 players on the NEWMAC Academic All-Conference team.
While an undergraduate at Duke University, Stansky served as a scout team practice player for the women's basketball team under head coach Joanne P. McCallie. Stansky’s role involved assisting player development and scouting opponents. During his time with the Blue Devils, the team compiled a 62-10 record and reached the Elite 8 of the NCAA Tournament both seasons. He was also a part of the 2010 and 2011 ACC tournament champions and ACC regular season co-champions in 2010 and 2011. While at Duke, Stansky had the opportunity to work with several current and former WNBA players.
Stansky has been involved in youth basketball since 2008, coaching with the John Avery Boys and Girls Club in Durham, N.C. for three years where he lead a boys team in the Durham Jr. NBA Basketball League.
A 2011 Duke graduate with a Bachelor of Arts degree in history, Stansky also worked as a high yield debt research analyst for Fidelity Investments prior to joining the MIT program. He is also a board member of the Duke Alumni Association of Boston.
In addition to his team duties, Stansky has worked a number of basketball camps including Coach K's Basketball Camp, the Holy Cross Basketball Camp, and the HoopMountain Academic Camp held at Brandies University.
Stansky is a graduate of Noble & Greenough High School in Dedham, Mass and is a native of Boston.
