WAYNE, N.J. – Will Tashman poured in a career-high, 21 points to go along with nine rebounds but it was not enough to propel No. 21 ranked MIT into the Second Round of the NCAA Division III Tournament, as the Engineers dropped a hard-fought, overtime decision to DeSales University, 72-64. Noel Hollingsworth added 18 points for the Cardinal and Gray, making its second straight appearance in the NCAA Tournament. CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) announced its men’s basketball award winners on Tuesday and a pair of Engineers received prestigious, individual recognition from the conference. Sophomore Noel Hollingsworth was named the NEWMAC Player of the Year, the second straight MIT player to take home that honor, while teammate Mitchell Kates was tabbed as the conference Rookie of the Year. Both players were also selected to the All-Conference squad, with Hollingsworth on the First Team and Kates garnering Second Team honors. READ MORE
