Babson Clips MIT, 70-58
Feb. 15, 2005
The Beavers led almost the entire game, shooting 59 percent from the field in the first half that resulted in a 31-24 lead. MIT scored the first five points of the second frame to close the gap to a pair, but that was as close as the Engineers would come, as Babson ensured its eighth consecutive victory over MIT dating back to the 2000-01 season. The 12-point differential at the end of the contest marked the largest spread of the evening.
CJ Enere and Phil Riffe each scored 12 points to pave the way for the Babson offense. Geoff Ponitz was 5-of-7 from the floor in adding 11 to the Beavers' totals, while Dan Elliman chipped in 10. Enere just missed recording a double-double, closing out with a game-best nine rebounds.
The Engineers were paced by Huhs, who also added a team-high six boards. Mike D'Auria was the only other Tech player to reach double digits, totaling 11 points behind 7-of-8 shooting from the foul line. Hampered by injury, Adam Gibbons finished with just eight points, but dished out four assists and collected a game-high three steals.
