CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Senior Jimmy Bartolotta earned his second weekly honor of the season from the NEWMAC after guiding MIT to a 3-0 week, including two conference road wins, as the Engineers established their best-ever start in conference play.
On Monday night, MIT stepped out of conference to host Newbury. Bartolotta scored 23 points in 23 minutes, while adding five assists, four rebounds, three steals, and a block.
At Coast Guard on Wednesday, Bartolotta scored 18 of his 24 points in the second half as MIT rallied for a 75-72 victory. Bartolotta finished 4-of-4 from the free-throw line in the final 30 seconds to preserve the win, while adding a game and season-high 12 rebounds for the monster double-double.
At Springfield on Saturday, Bartolotta scored 24 points in the first half, and finished with a game-best 33 points in just 27 minutes of work. He added four rebounds, two assists, and a block while shooting 10-of-14 from the floor.
