WORCESTER, Mass. - Mike D'Auria was named NEWMAC Co-Player of the Week in men's basketball after driving the Engineers back over .500 with strong play in the back. D'Auria shared the award with Jeff Prebeck of the U.S. Coast Guard Academy.
D'Auria paced MIT to a 2-0 weekly mark, including a 68-58 win at
Prebeck averaged 16.3 points and 10.3 rebounds as the Bears won two of three games last week. Overall, the freshman forward shot 44 percent from the floor (15-of-34) and 83 percent from the line (19-of-23). His best game was in an 84-80 overtime win versus Babson when he posted 18 points and a career-high 16 rebounds as Coast Guard snapped an 18-game losing streak within the conference and a nine-game losing streak against the Beavers.
