CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - For the second time in four weeks, sophomore Jimmy Bartolotta was named NEWMAC Player of the Week. Bartolotta, who has served as one of the top all-around players in the league this season, posted big numbers in two games for the Engineers last week.
In a 76-68 victory against Lasell College on Tuesday, Bartolotta scored a game-high 27 points, while adding a game and career-high 21 rebounds, six assists, three blocks and two steals.
Although MIT lost, 83-71, in the regular-season finale against Clark on Saturday, Bartolotta was once again huge as he scored a game-high 32 points on 9-of-12 shooting, while adding nine rebounds, seven assists, a block and a career-high six steals. He combined to shoot 18-of-31 from the field and 22-of-23 at the free-throw line while averaging 29.5 points, 15 rebounds, 6.5 assists, four steals and two blocks.
