The Engineers are in the midst of a five-game winning streak after knocking off Babson College, 49-40, in the first round of the tournament. The Cardinal and Gray have been led this season by senior Mike D'Auria, who currently ranks sixth on the Institute's all-time scoring list and set the single-season record this year for steals. MIT has also been applauded for its depth and key contributions from other role players. Senior Danny Kanamori ranks second all-time at MIT in both steals and assists, while Jimmy Bartolotta has been one of the best rookies in the league all season. With the victory over Babson, MIT tied the program record for wins in a season, equaling the 19 wins posted by the 1966-67 unit that was tabbed ECAC Team of the Year.
