Skip Dise 03 Headed to the Rowing World Championships
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -
Skip Dise (CE, ’03) was selected to represent the United
States at the World Championships to be held in Poznan, Poland from
August 23-30 in the Men’s Lightweight Eight.
Dise began his rowing career at MIT and by his junior season he was
the stroke of the lightweight varsity eight. In his senior year,
Dise was elected both captain and most inspirational oarsman for
the lightweight men’s squad.
Prior to his selection to the national team, Dise rowed for the
Riverside Boat Club High Performance Group where he won multiple
gold medals in the men's lightweight eight and progressed to the
semifinals at the Henley Royal Regatta in the intermediate
quadruple sculls (Prince of Wales Cup). This past spring Dise
received a spot at the U.S. Rowing Training Center in Princeton,
N.J. and last month he was picked for the U.S. Rowing Training
Center lightweight eight. On August 6, the U.S. lightweight eight
boat was announced at the USRowing Senior and Adaptive World
Championship Trials.
The U.S. lightweight eight is the defending world champion and is
looking to repeat its stellar performance from 2008. To find out
