CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Northeast Fencing Conference (NFC) recently announced its All-Conference Team with MIT receiving two Second-Team selections. In addition, sophomore Ben Nield was named to the College Fencing National Honor Roll for the week of Feb. 15-21, as presented by CollegeFencing360.com.
Nield received his Honorable Mention plaudits after winning the foil crown at the 2010 New England Championships, improving upon his runner-up finish at the event in 2009.
The NFC honored MIT senior Rajiv Nadadur and sophomore Jackson Crane for their performance in the 2009-10 season. Nadadur received recognition for his 22-7 record in conference competition, while Crane excelled at epee, finishing 19-9 in the NFC. Both fencers received Second-Team honors.
Teams in the Northeast Fencing Conference include Boston College, Boston University, Brandeis University, Brown University, Dartmouth College, the University of Massachusetts, the University of New Hampshire, and Tufts University.
