Olympic Gold Medalist Johan Harmenberg Speaking on Friday, October 13th

Cambridge, Mass. (October 12) -- On Friday, October 13th, former MIT fencer and 1980 Olympic gold medalist in Epee, Johan Harmenberg, will be lecturing at MIT on new research in the sport of fencing.

The lecture, which is free and open to the public, will take place in MIT's Stata Center in Room 32-141 beginning at 5 p.m. Seating is limited to the event so please RSVP to MIT fencing head coach Jarek Koniusz at jarek@mit.edu.

Harmenberg is the author of Epee 2.5: The New Fencing Paradigm who was a member of the 1973 freshman foil team at MIT. Mentored by USA Fencing Hall of Fame coach Eric Sollee, Harmenberg is also involved in coaching the Swedish Junior Team and is a physician specializing in cancer research.
