Engineers Battle at Brandeis Invitational

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - In its final outing of the semester, the MIT men's fencing team fell to Brown University (15-12), Yale University (15-12), and St. John's University (20-7) at the Brandeis University Invitational on Saturday. With the losses, the Engineers' ledger lowered to 4-7 on the year.

The sabre team registered the best performance of the day for MIT as it compiled a record of 18-9, including an 8-1 win versus Yale. Rangarajan Nadadur and Igor Kopylov both posted marks of 7-2 while Maximilian Brand went 4-5.

Behind Gabriel Chan's total of 4-5, the epee team finished with a tally of 10-17. Jeremy Hurwitz and Matt Gethers rounded out the contingent with records of 3-6. The foil team notched a record of 3-24, with Spencer Sugimoto, Benjamin Switala, and Sebastian Castro each picking up a win.
