Football Racks Up NEFC Honor Roll Accolades
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – During the past three weeks, Jake Laux, Marcel Sanchez, and John Wenzel each earned a spot on the New England Football Conference (NEFC) Honor Roll. Laux was selected twice while Sanchez received his second nod of the season. Wenzel earned his first recognition from the league.
Laux started the streak for the Engineers courtesy of a game-high 14 tackles against Western New England College on Oct. 16. The following week, Sanchez amassed a game-high 106 yards on 34 carries and a touchdown versus Salve Regina University. Wenzel and Laux represented MIT on the Honor Roll earlier this week with their outstanding performances at Nichols College. Wenzel recorded the best passing performance for the Cardinal and Gray this season with 246 yards by completing 19-of-28 attempts and tacked on a touchdown. On the other side of the ball, Laux led all players with 20 tackles, just falling four shy of breaking the Institute record.
MIT will wrap up its season on Saturday, Nov. 6 at Boyd Division foe Endicott College. Kickoff is slated for 5:00 p.m. and live stats can be viewed by clicking here.
