Cambridge, Mass. – MIT will kick off its 2011 football season on September 10 when it travels to Becker College to take on the Hawks in a contest that will start at Noon. The game begins a nine-game schedule for the Engineers that will end on November 5 when MIT hosts Endicott College.
MIT will play two of its three games in September on the road, following its tilt at Becker College with a game at Massachusetts Maritime Academy on September 17. The Engineers will not make their first home appearance at Roberts Field at Steinbrenner Stadium until September 24 when they will host Curry College.
That contest also marks the opening of the conference season for MIT, with the remaining seven games all coming against New England Football Conference Boyd Division foes. After hosting Curry College, it will be back on the road for MIT for the next two weeks as October play begins. The Engineers face road contests at UMass Dartmouth and Plymouth State University on October 1 and 8.
MIT returns home on October 15, hosting Western New England University in a game that starts a four-game span that will close out the season seeing the Engineers play three of their final four games at home. After taking on Salve Regina University on October 22 in its final road game of the season, MIT hosts Nichols College on October 29 and Endicott College on November 5 to close out the season.
