CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – MIT freshman Justin Wallace (Palatine, Ill.) continues to receive recognition for his outstanding first season with the Engineers' football team. His most recent accolade came from the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference which recently announced its NCAA Division III North Football All-Stars and named Wallace as the Offensive Rookie of the Year. It was the first time that a MIT football player has been named to the honor.
Wallace, who was also named the Offensive Rookie of the Year for the Boyd Division of the New England Football Conference, had an outstanding first season at MIT as he led the Engineers in rushing with 981 yards and averaged 109.0 yards per game. He rushed for 100 yards four times, with a high of 190 in MIT's 23-0 win over Nichols that earned him NEFC Offensive Player of the Week honors. Finishing fourth in the NEFC in rushing, he led all freshmen nationally in Division III in yards per game.
