Peterson Named Semifinalist for Campbell Trophy

DALLAS, Texas – Senior Ethan Peterson (Rutland, Vt.) of the MIT football team has been selected as a semifinalist for the National Football Foundation's William V. Campbell Trophy the organization has announced. Peterson is one of 147 student-athletes from all levels of college football selected as a semifinalist for the prestigious award that recognizes the best scholar-athlete in the nation.

A three-year starter on the offensive line, Peterson was a first team All-New England Football Conference pick in 2011, his second all-conference honor. A two-time Academic All-NEFC selection, Peterson was also named a second team Capital One Academic All-American after last season and has played in every game during his MIT career.

A total of 16 finalists will be announced on October 25, each of which will receive an $18,000 postgraduate scholarship. The winner of the Campbell Trophy will be announced on December 4 in New York City at the 55th NFF Annual Awards Dinner at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel.
