CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – For the second year in a row, MIT received a trio of Pilgrim League All-Conference accolades. Eric Zuk collected his second straight Second-Team selection while Bryan Beller and Carl Tilbury earned their first awards by being picked to the First and Second Teams, respectively.
Zuk is MIT's first repeat honoree since Isaac Taylor '05 was tabbed to the Second Team in 2004 and 2005. A long-stick defender, he compiled 36 groundballs, a team-high 15 caused turnovers, and a goal. Beller, another component of the Engineers' defense, totaled 35 groundballs, 12 caused turnovers, and one goal. Tilbury was the squad's top-scoring midfielder, tallying 23 goals and six assists for 29 points. He registered five man-up makers and a pair of game-winning goals.
The Cardinal and Gray also saw nine athletes named to the league's Academic All-Conference Team. Will Gibson and Tom Hay were three-time honorees while John Kucharczyk, Justin Myers, Dan Piemont, Nick Sisler, and Tomas Vianna made the list for the second time. Tilbury rounded out the squad with his first selection.
