Pilgrim Lacrosse League Announces Postseason AwardsCAMBRIDGE, Mass. – MIT collected four Pilgrim Lacrosse League All-Conference selections, marking its highest total since the 2000 season. Christopher Rullan represented the Engineers on the First Team while Dan Piemont, Elliot Sykora, and Bryan Beller were Second-Team picks. In addition, the Cardinal and Gray placed nine athletes on the Academic All-Conference Team for the second year in a row.
Springfield Ends MIT’s Season in Pilgrim League SemifinalsSPRINGFIELD, Mass. - After opening up an 11-0 halftime lead, the Springfield College men's lacrosse team bested visiting MIT, 16-7, in the Pilgrim Lacrosse League Tournament Semifinals on Wednesday evening on Stagg Field. The victory boosted Springfield's record to 10-5, while the Engineers’ season concluded with a 5-8 record. These two teams were plenty familiar with each other, having just played last Saturday when the Pride prevailed, 15-5.

Babson Rallies Past Men’s Lacrosse, 10-9CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – MIT entered the fourth quarter with an 8-7 edge, but Babson College generated a 3-1 spurt during the last nine minutes of regulation to come away with a 10-9 victory in a Pilgrim Lacrosse League game on Saturday night. Morgan Krey posted a game-high five points on four goals and an assist for the Engineers (4-5, 2-1 Pilgrim) while Cam Caruso led the Beavers (6-6, 2-1 Pilgrim) with three goals and an assist.
Salem State Scores Late to Upend Tech, 7-5SALEM, Mass. – Jeremy Fanning scored twice in the final 3:41 of regulation to break a 5-5 tie and propel Salem State University to a 7-5 victory over MIT in a men’s lacrosse game at Alumni Field on Tuesday afternoon. With the win, the Vikings improved to 6-4 on the year while the Engineers evened their record at 4-4.

Nichols Tops Men's Lacrosse, 7-2CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Nichols College built a 4-0 lead and never looked back as it went on to record a 7-2 victory over host MIT in the season-opening game for both men’s lacrosse teams on Wednesday night. Ryan Pacific paced the Bison with four points on a goal and three assists while John Kucharczyk was credited with both of the Engineers’ goals.
MIT Ranks Fourth Among All NCAA Institutions in 2010 NCSA Collegiate Power RankingsCHICAGO, Ill. – The National Collegiate Scouting Association (NCSA) recently announced its eighth annual Collegiate Power Rankings. Following another tremendous year, the Engineers were listed fourth overall in securing their highest ranking in the history of the report. The NCSA Athletic Recruiting’s Collegiate Power Rankings assess the academic and athletics standards of all NCAA athletic programs across the country. The Power Rankings were developed to help prospective student athletes and their families evaluate the particular strengths of the top colleges and universities at the Division I, II and III levels.
