Men's Lacrosse Falls to Lasell, 8-4

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - In its return to New England, MIT fell to Lasell College, 8-4, in Saturday's Pilgrim Lacrosse League opener. Dan Piemont paced the Engineers (1-4, 0-1 Pilgrim) with two goals as Corey Garvey posted one goal and an assist. John Kucharczyk and Dylan Roden rounded out the offense with a goal and an assist, respectively. In net, Garth Grove collected 12 saves.
The Lasers recorded the only goal of the first half, just 4:17 into the opening period. Piemont connected on a feed from Roden at the 14:21 mark of the third quarter for the equalizer. Lasell regained the lead with 10:56 left, but another goal by Piemont that was set up by Garvey knotted the contest at two a minute later. Lasell responded by going on a 6-0 run that spanned the third and fourth quarters. Unassisted tallies by Kucharczyk and Garvey midway through the final frame resulted in the final score.
