– Peter Bojo ended Eastern Connecticut State
University’s hopes for a shutout when he converted a feed
from Chris Hammond with 18 seconds left to play in a 3-1 loss on
Saturday. The Engineers (2-1) will finish their appearance in the
Third Annual Babson College Soccer Classic by taking on Wentworth
Institute of Technology on Sunday.
After a scoreless first half, the Warriors were awarded a penalty
shot in the 50th minute. Max Fantl took a hard shot to the upper
left corner to give Eastern Connecticut the 1-0 lead. Chris
Bourdeau kept the momentum going for the Warriors by scoring an
unassisted goal 10 minutes later. Fantl’s second marker of
the game came in the 82nd minute after receiving a long pass from
Cory Tobler.
Eastern Connecticut sophomore Carl Appel played 85 minutes for the
Warriors making seven saves as Tyler Edwardson closed out the game.
Dylan Rankin collected nine saves for the Engineers.
