WELLESLEY, Mass. – Seniors Zach Kabelac (Potomac, Md.) and Max Stein-Golenbock (Boston, Mass.) along with junior Ben Lewis (West Hartford, Conn.) were voted to the first team of the NEWMAC Men's Soccer All-Conference Team on Tuesday. For the second year in a row MIT had three first team placements and extended its streak to 13 consecutive seasons with multiple honors.
Kabelac became the third player in program history to collect first team accolades all four seasons, joining Christian Therkelsen '10 and Nick Nestle '04 on the list. He graduates tied for second in goals (40), third in points (97), and fifth in assists (17). Kabelac ranked sixth in the NEWMAC in goals (eight) and seventh in points (19) while tying for first in game-winning goals (four).
Lewis collected his third league award and second straight first team honor after totaling two goals, both which were game-winners, and two assists for six points. After a pair of second team awards, Stein-Golenbock was tabbed to the first team for the first time in his career. A steadying presence in the midfield, he posted one goal and two assists for four points.
