CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Senior Chris Hammond (Wilmington, Del.) was named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Division III Men's Scholar All-East Region Honorable Mention Team on Tuesday. This is the second year in a row that he has appeared on the list.
In order to be eligible for this award, a student-athlete must be at least a junior, have attained a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher and have started more than 50 percent of the team's games.
Hammond played and started 14 games during his senior year, recording three goals and three assists. He was named to both the NEWMAC Academic All-Conference team and the CoSIDA Academic All-District team twice throughout his career at MIT.
The Engineers wrapped up their season with a record of 13-5-2, winning their first NEWMAC championship title in program history and receiving an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.
