  • Stuntz Named To CoSIDA Academic All-District Team For Third Time

    Cambridge, Mass. (November 9) – For the third straight year, MIT men’s soccer senior Ryan Stuntz (Wellesley, Mass.) has been named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District First Team for his hard work both on the field and in the classroom.

(November 8) – MIT men’s soccer freshman Loukas Carayannopoulos (Westfield, N.J.) has been named as the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Rookie of the Year. Additionally, senior Ryan Stuntz (Wellesley, Mass.) and junior Thad Daguilh (Port-au-Prince, Haiti) earned spots on the NEWMAC All-Conference Second Team for their defensive efforts.

  • Men's Soccer Falls To Clark In Penalty Kicks In NEWMAC Quarterfinal Match

    Worcester, Mass. (November 1) - Tied at 2-2 after 110 minutes of action, tonight's New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Tournament Quarterfinal contest between fourth-seeded Clark University and fifth-seeded MIT concluded in penalty kicks. Ultimately, it was the host Cougars who came on top winning the shootout by a 5-4 margin as Clark will now move on to the NEWMAC semifinals set for Saturday and take on top-seeded Springfield College at 12:00 p.m.

(October 18) - The MIT men’s soccer team broke out of its four game winless streak with a 2-0 non-conference victory over the Beacons of UMass Boston on Wednesday night in Cambridge. Coming into tonight’s match, UMass Boston was ranked No. 8 in the first NCAA Division III New England Regional rankings.

(October 14) - A goal in the 54th minute by Clark University's Patrick Clark was the difference in today's match as the visiting Cougars defeated MIT, 1-0, on Saturday afternoon in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) match. Prior to the game, MIT recognized its three seniors Ryan Stuntz (Wellesley, Mass.), Vickram Goel (Williamsville, N.Y.) and Nate Johnson (Sudbury, Mass.) for their contributions to the team over the past four years in a ceremony before kickoff.

(October 7) - The Springfield College men's soccer team, which is ranked No. 20 in the latest United Soccer Coaches Division III national poll and No. 4 in the New England regional rankings by the same association, defeated MIT, 2-0, in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) match on Saturday afternoon in Cambridge.
  • Men’s Soccer Posts Third Highest GPA In Nation; Earns United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award

(September 13) - After the MIT men’s soccer team led the game 1-0 for 86 minutes, Roger Williams senior Sean Janson netted the equalizer with 1:40 to play in regulation to send the non-conference contest into overtime. Neither team could find the back of the net in extra time as both teams left Cambridge today with a 1-1 draw.

    Cambridge, Mass. (September 9) - In their 2017 home opener, the MIT men’s soccer team defeated Framingham State University by a 4-1 score on Saturday afternoon in Cambridge. Three of the four MIT goals were scored by freshmen who each notched their first collegiate goals, while the other one came from senior captain Ryan Stuntz (Wellesley, Mass.) who also tallied an assist in today’s win.

  • Men’s Soccer Picked Seventh In NEWMAC Preseason Poll

    WESTWOOD, Mass. (August 29) – In the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) men’s soccer preseason coaches’ poll, which was released by the league this morning, the MIT men’s soccer team was picked seventh. Defending league champion Babson College was selected first with six first place votes and was followed by Springfield College, Wheaton College, Clark University, Coast Guard and WPI. Emerson rounded out the poll in eighth place.
