Men's Soccer Defeats Lasell in Double Overtime

CAMBRIDGE, MASS. - Robert Pilawa headed in the game-winning goal on a corner kick by Ryan Sheffler 3:20 into the second overtime to give MIT a 3-2 win over Lasell College on Saturday. With the win, the Engineers' record improves to 4-1-1.

Sheffler helped put Tech on the scoreboard in the 29th minute, assisting in Alex Morgan's goal. The Lasers tied the game early in the second half with a goal by Brian Whelan. He then set-up Matt Denham's go-ahead goal in the 79th minute. MIT responded by evening the score at two with 4:07 left to play in regulation. Scoring the first goal of his career, Chris Desrochers connected on a pass from Walter Song.

In the net, Morgan Mills collected two saves for the Engineers.

The next game for MIT will be on Wednesday, Oct. 6 at 3:30 p.m. when it hosts Brandeis University.
