• MIT Finishes 11th in Directors’ Cup Rankings

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Coming on the heels of one of the most successful campaigns in Institute history, MIT placed 11th among all Division III schools in the National Association of College Directors of Athletics (NACDA) annual Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup. This was the highest ranking for the Engineers in the 14-year history of the program and the first time they were the best performers in the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC).

Robert Habib, George Pratt, Andrew Yoon, and Michael Zomnir represented the Engineers on the list.

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The MIT squash team’s best chance to capture a game against visiting Brown University fell short as Robert Habib dropped a 13-11, 11-9, 11-2 decision in the sixth slot of a 9-0 team defeat to the Bears. The Engineers fell to 3-11, while Brown improved to 3-7.
  • MIT Squash Battles at Maine Event

    WATERVILLE, Maine – The MIT squash team fell on some hard times at the Maine Event this past weekend, falling in sweeps to Colby College, Bowdoin College, Bates College, Denison University, and Stanford University. Connor Kirshbaum continued to play well, giving Tech its best chance against Colby, before falling in five games to Peter Grabanski, 11-9, 11-9, 12-14, 4-11, 11-5, in the sixth slot. Kirschbaum also won a game against Bowdoin in a 3-1 loss to Brian Gladstone in the seventh position.
  • Squash Storms Back with 9-0 Win over Fordham

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Turning the tables after suffering five straight setbacks, the MIT squash team reversed the score in its favor with a sound 9-0 win over visiting Fordham University this past weekend. The Engineers improved to the 3-10, while the Rams fell to 0-10.

    NEW LONDON, Conn. – Michael Zomnir and Connor Kirschbaum waged the best battles for the MIT squash team in a 9-0 loss to host Connecticut College at Luce Fieldhouse on Wednesday. The Engineers fell to 2-10 on the year, while the Camels improved to 7-6.

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The MIT squash team will try to bounce back when it visits Connecticut College tonight, after suffering 9-0 defeats to the U.S. Naval Academy and George Washington University last week. Both matches were played at Yale University.

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – In its first action following the holiday break, the host MIT squash team succumbed to Amherst College, 9-0, on Tuesday. Andrew Yoon, playing in the No. 1 slot, picked up the only game win for the Engineers. The loss moved the Cardinal and Gray’s ledger to 2-7 on the year while the Lord Jeffs improved to 3-0.
  • MIT Takes One of Three at Quad Match

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The host MIT squash team came away with one win in a quad match on Dec. 5, defeating Northeastern University, 5-4, while dropping 8-1 and 9-0 decisions to Tufts University and Middlebury College, respectively, leaving the Engineers with a 2-6 record heading into the holiday break.

  • MIT Names Nadeem Mazen Head Coach of Squash

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Nadeem Mazen was named head coach of the MIT squash team as announced by Julie Soriero, Director of Athletics, on Thursday. Mazen’s appointment marks his first intercollegiate coaching post.
