PRINCETON, N.J. – The MIT squash team traveled to Princeton University over the weekend for the College Squash Association (CSA) team championship. The Engineers were in the Conroy Cup draw, the fourth of seven, eight-team brackets at the championship. Tech won its final match of the weekend, 6-3, over Colgate University to finish the event 31st overall, out of 63 teams competing in the tournament.
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The MIT squash team welcomed Boston University and Boston College to the Zesiger Center Squash courts on Saturday and the Engineers were able to come away with a pair of victories, defeating BU, 8-1, and BC, 5-4, to improve to 7-10 on the season. Four different Tech players picked up wins in both matches led by freshman Steve Cho (Lexington, Mass.), who improved to 8-9 on the season.
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The MIT squash traveled north for the annual Maine Event tournament, a round-robin of matches hosted by Bates College, Bowdoin College and Colby College. The Engineers picked up a win over the University of Vermont, 9-0, lost a close match to Drexel University, 6-3, and dropped a pair of 9-0 decisions to Bates and Bowdoin.
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The MIT squash team traveled to Amherst College on Saturday for its final match of the fall semester. The Engineers battled the No. 22 ranked Lord Jeffs but ultimately fell, 9-0. Tech’s ledger now stands at 4-7 on the season.
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The MIT squash team dropped a couple of hard-fought, tightly contested matches during a 7-2 setback at the hands of visiting Tufts University on Wednesday afternoon at the Zesiger Squash courts. Six of the nine matches went to at least four sets, as the Engineers fell to 4-6 on the year, with one match remaining in their first semester schedule.
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The MIT squash team hosted an invitational in conjunction with Wellesley College at the Zesiger Center squash courts over the weekend. The Engineers squared off against four local rivals, Boston University, Northeastern University, Boston College and Harvard University, as well as visiting New York University, and came away with a 3-2 ledger over the three days of competition. Tech defeated Boston Univ., 9-0, Boston College, 6-3, and New York Univ., 8-1, while falling the fifth-ranked Harvard, 9-0, and Northeastern, 7-2
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The MIT squash team opened its 2011-12 campaign on Saturday with a convincing 9-0 win over visiting Haverford College. Tech picked up straight set victories in seven of the nine matches to improve to 1-0 on the season.
