Das Named Harrow Sports College Squash Player of the Week

HATFIELD, Mass. (February 2) – MIT squash freshman Neel Das (Needham, Mass.) was recently named as the Harrow Sports College Squash Player of the Week for his outstanding performance against No. 24 Bowdoin College on Friday, January 27.

Last Friday marked the first time since the 1993-94 season that the Engineers have defeated the Polar Bears as MIT edged Bowdoin 5-4 in the match and extended their winning streak to eight. At the No. 6 position, Das won the decisive fifth set 11-7 against Bowdoin's George Cooley earning the 7-11, 11-6, 11-4, 7-11, 11-7 giving the Engineers their fifth point of the match and the win over the Polar Bears in Maine.

MIT, ranked No. 20 in the latest College Squash Association (CSA) national poll, will close its regular season a week from tomorrow when the Engineers host No. 28 Tufts College at 6:00 p.m. before heading to No. 25 Amherst College the following day for a 1:00 p.m. start.
