Sam Gould is entering his third season as Assistant Coach of the MIT Squash Team after serving as the Associate Head Coach during the 2013-14 season. That year, Gould helped the team reach an overall mark of 8-6 and a 31st place finish in the nation.
Gould currently plays on Professional Squash Association World Tour. He joined the tour in March 2015 and has since been training under the direction of MIT Head Coach, Thierry Lincou. As of November 2016 his World Ranking is 164, which places him as the 6th highest ranked American on the tour.
Gould earned his bachelor’s degree from Stanford University in 2011 where he played No. 1 on the university team ladder for all four years. During his junior and senior seasons, he served as the captain and led the team to top 25 finishes. In addition to the time he spent on the court, he also volunteered as the Athletic Director for Xtreme Squash, an academic and athletic enrichment program for underserved middle school students from Redwood City, Calif.
