Nadeem Mazen enters his fifth season as head coach of the MIT squash team. Mazen's appointment marks his first intercollegiate coaching post.
During the 2012-13 season, he led the Engineers to wins against the University of Vermont, UC Berkeley, Bard College, Boston University and the University of Washington. He also coached Gray Riley to the sophomore’s ﬁ rst CSA Individual National Championship appearance.
A four-year player at MIT, Mazen served as the captain during his junior and senior campaigns and captured the No. 1 spot on the team ladder his senior season. As an undergraduate, he was a mentor and coach for Kosvar refugees. In addition, Mazen coached middle school students in MIT's Science Technology Engineering and Math Summer Program. From 2007-09, he was a one-on-one instructor for beginner and intermediate players in the greater Boston area.
A 2006 graduate, Mazen earned a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
