CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The MIT squash team traveled to Yale over the weekend and picked up a pair of wins over Vassar College and USC before falling to Hamilton College. The Engineers also returned home to host Brandeis on Wednesday, defeating the Judges, 8-1.

Tech opened the weekend on Friday night with a convincing 8-1 victory over Vassar. Balaji Sridhar, in his first match at the no. one singles position, put the Engineers into the win column early, defeating his opponent, 9-7, 9-2, 9-6. Michael Zomnir also picked up a hard-earned match victory in the fourth position, with a 9-6, 9-1, 10-8 decision over Nicholas Lupu.

MIT was back in action the next morning, taking on the Trojans of USC. While Sridhar was unable to continue his success in the first slot, the Cardinal and Grey would sweep the next eight matches for the 8-1 decision. Saad Zaheer (2-9, 9-6, 9-1, 9-0) and Zomnir (3-9, 9-0, 9-1, 9-6) were both able to rebound from opening set losses in their respective contests to earn favorable results.

In their final match at Yale, the Engineers ran into a strong Hamilton College squad, falling, 9-0, to finish 2-1 over the weekend. John Kucharczyk was able to take a set from his opponent, Roland Morris, before ultimately falling, 9-0, 9-6, 7-9, 9-3.

MIT returned to its winning ways on Wednesday, hosting Brandeis and picking up an 8-1 victory. Once again, the squad took eight straight matches after a loss in the first position. Robert Habib, Joey Lemberg and Ishaan Chugh did not surrender a point in their straight-set wins.

MIT will host Fordham and Northeastern on Saturday, January 31, beginning at 1:00 p.m
