CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - For the second time in his career, MIT senior Luke Cummings was named New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Men's Swimmer of the Week.
In the final home meet of his career, the native of Kinigston, R.I. led the Engineers with three wins as the No. 5 Cardinal and Gray defeated No. 16 Amherst College 174-124 last Saturday afternoon. The senior started the day as anchor of Tech's winning 200 Medley Relay (1:33.78). Cummings went on to win the 50 Free (20.71) and 100 Free (46.25); both were NCAA B-cut times. With the win, the MIT men closed their dual-meet schedule at 8-0, notching their second-consecutive undefeated season.
